whether you're a blogger, influencer, running a business, or just scrolling, it's safe to say that social media can certainly be toxic. Sometimes, having to highlight all of the positive things in your life can be exhausting because it makes us feel like we have to hide all of the other not so great things going on.

I'm here to tell you that what you see on social media isn't reality. Nobody has a perfect house, or perfect health or a perfect family! We're human, we have faults and sometimes social media can make us feel ashamed of that due to what scrolling does to the human brain.

As we keep scrolling, we see "perfect" people that we automatically compare ourselves to. This can be so damaging to our self-esteem and happiness.

So, what else can you do when scrolling seems so tempting? Grab a book, delete the app, go outside, meditate, or take a hike!  Try taking one week off of social media if you need a break! From my experience, it can be very healing.

Have you tried taking a break? How did it go? Let me know on Instagram @nellamoon!
