the term "empower" is a trending word on social media but what does it actually look like? I know I've talked about how important it is to choose your circle of friends widely quite a bit but have you observed which friends actually empower you to be the best you can be?

At the end of the day, no one can make you feel "less than" without your consent. And when you're around the right people, you won't be put in that situation anyway. And while we are always focused on empowering others, we may be missing out on the opportunity to empower ourselves.

I believe that to be fully empowered, it must start from within and with ourselves. But what does that look like? Self-empowerment means giving yourself more power in some way, shape, or form while boosting your confidence. For me, it looks like this...

Not talking myself down...

We are so cruel to ourselves! Once you start talking to yourself like you talk to your friends, the perception you have of yourself will change. Instead of saying "I can't" say, "I will".

Stop the comparison!

write this one down, hang it on your fridge, mirror, or sleep with it by your bed. With social media being such a massive empire, we're always reminding ourselves of what we don't have rather than what we do have. We tend to compare our chapter one to someone else's chapter twenty all day. Focus on YOU, your career, your journey, and embrace the adventure without looking into the other lane!

Positive affirmations

Put what you want into words. Affirmations are so crucial for growth! Write down ten things that you've done really well every day and be proud of them! While we search for affirmations from other people, true affirmation comes from ourselves.

How are you empowering yourself today? I've shared what I do, now it's your turn! Share your methods with me on Instagram @nellamoon!
