Nama Sushi Date Night

One word – PHENOMENAL! Nama is our favorite ” date night sushi restaurant in the Nashville/ Brentwood, TN area.  Chris and I try to have a ” date night once a week, whether it’s having a fun dinner out on the town or watching a movie and spending some cozy QT together on the couch. I think keeping your relationship at the top of your priority list is key to a successful partnership. Now onto our experience at Nama! From the moment we walked in the hostess gave us a warm welcome and seated us at a comfy booth by the patio window. Johnny, the manager, was very courteous and came over a few times to check in on us and make sure we were enjoying our experience. The service is always top notch and the sushi is fresh and delicious. You can taste the quality. Jessie was our server and he was wonderful and gracious. Nama offers an amazing half price sushi menu on Monday’s and Thursday’s at the Brentwood, TN location from 4pm-close. Their outdoor patio is quaint and they have a great swanky bar. Some of our favorite rolls are the Soy Joy, Atlantic Roll, Fancy Scallop Roll and the Philadelphia Roll. My all time favorite roll is the Maui Wowie Roll. It has crunchy shrimp, avocado, spicy aioli topped with yellowtail, avocado and pineapple salsa. I use a ton of wasabi as well. Wasabi is actually so amazing for you – it helps prevent food poisoning by killing harmful bacteria that could be in your food, it increases circulation, fights cancer, fights allergies and colds, decreases inflammation and last but not least it is an antioxidant – which keeps you looking young. So load up on your wasabi y’all. The pickled ginger aids in digestion and helps clean your palate. We get all of our sushi made with brown rice because it is a healthier alternative than white rice. I am so thankful they offer brown rice sushi at Nama because a lot of sushi restaurants don’t offer it. It’s a little extra, but totally worth it. I personally think it tastes better. I also love how they will customize any roll for you. For low carb days, we will get our rolls wrapped in cucumber rather than rice. Our favorite red wine at Nama is the Meiomi Pinot Noir. I think this red wine pairs well with all their different rolls. Sushi and wine are my jam. I think I need to make a shirt that says this. The atmosphere at Nama is fun and light and the staff/management are so warm and welcoming. I definitely recommend you try this exceptional restaurant next time you’re in the Nashville/Brentwood area.
